I suggest LGA 775, which is cooler than s478 prescott system.
Most of the motherboard support both of DDR and DDRII ram, so don't worry about that you have to buy DDRII.
Also, LGA 775 must pair up with a PCI-E graphic card. But for Gigabyte's motherboard, they have a slot which you could insert an AGP graphic card.
