in my opinion, if you want the fastest speed for the money, AMD is the choice.
the advantage of intel is the chipset, as many people said on this forum. so if you get intel cpu, intel chipset, or even intel motherboard, you "may" have less annoying bug. however, if you are getting sis, via or ati chipset, it is a different story.

if for normal use, i think both cpu are fast enough for today's applications.
