報導說8月3號會正式發給retailer, 8月5號US販售
Doom 3 goes gold
July 14, 2004 - 15:37 EST
Chicago (IL) - Todd Hollenshead, chief executive of id Software, confirmed that the development of Doom 3 has been finished and that the code has been released to manufacturing.
Hollenshead also confirmed in a post on Shacknews as well in a press release that retailers will start shipping boxes from 12:01 am on August 3, as we reported on June 24.
The official street date for selling the game is August 5th in the US. There will be a delay of "a few days" until Doom 3 will become available internationally. Delivery in the UK is estimated to be August 6, the remaining parts of the world will get the game around August 13 - with some exceptions such as Poland and Russia due to a more time intensive localization process, Hollenshead said.
Activision and id were reluctant to confirm the ship date of Doom 3 up until today, pushing reports into the world of rumors. However, retailers such as CompUSA and GameStop were posting offers to pre-order Doom 3 already in June, indicating availability dates between August 1 and 3.
