潛射戰斧與魚叉都會有一個封套包著,確保他有浮力升到海面,不管是從VLS發射或是於雷管發射都一樣,這個封套,(或是你要稱他為彈箱都可以),他的尾端稍重,所以在上浮的過程中會自然的形成飛彈向上直立的發射角度,當衝出水面,感應器偵測到空氣的存在,尾端的加力器便點火將飛彈送出彈箱,同時推上約幾千呎,加力器燒完後脫離,飛彈自己的引擎點火,展開小翼,奔向目標
