如果是在美國買的WD回來台灣後好像即使使用線上RMA也無法保固..??
我去年八月在UCLA附近的Best Buy買了一台WD 2000JB,結果最近被我玩壞了(還好過年有新買一顆2500JB)我去輸入線上RMA和所在地之後,出現的是"Limited Warranty"根據官方網站上的解釋,是要先送到原購買處,但是如果所在處輸入"United States"的話,保固到2006年...於是我就寫Email去問了:

And another problem, I was tring to recover my WD2000 with windlg, but the problem seems getting serious, I cannot boot now, and the hard drive has very weird sounds. So I want to have a replacement, but when I checking RMA and warranty online, if I entered "United States" in
"Country", it said my warranty is valid until 2006, but if I entered "Taiwan"(yeh I do live in Taiwan), it said "Unlimited Warranty", so I have to contact with local distributor for replacement, but I bought WD2000JB in BEST BUY!!! There's no BEST BUY in Taiwan so I can't contact them and ask them to replace a hard drive for me, please tell me what can I do. Other hard drives in my system are almost full and new-bought WD2000 and WD2500 cannot work well... Help>"< Thanks for answering.

Unfortunately, the subject disk drive is under warranty until 25 March 2006 in the United States only. This drive can only be exchanged under warranty within the United State, its possessions, and Canada.

The work-around would be to furnish us with a domestic US or Canadian address to ship your replacement drive to, and then have the drive reshipped to you in Taiwan. That is the only way for your drive to be exchanged.
所以我必須還要寄到美國或加拿大的家那邊再轉寄過去WD...放棄XD
另外,不知道這個問題之前有沒有人發生過,因為我很少上PCDVD論壇...
就是我買那顆WD2000的時候裡面有附一張ATA卡(Promise的ATA100ST2??忘記型號)我發現只要用ATA卡連接硬碟在Windows裡面使用都會有問題,就是讀取到某些檔案就會出現錯誤,然後等了很久會告訴你"I/O...錯誤"之類的,我本來以為是因為我的WD2000有摔過,後來試了WD2500也有一樣的問題,後來我去BBS上面PO版...有人也有一樣的問題 他跟我說直接接主機板的IDE就不會有問題了,結果真的是出在ATA卡...不過看來WD他們也不知道有這樣的問題,因為我寫信去問,他們並不知道這個問題...大家參考一下...
