I cant see your picture but I think that hole is for the speak out when you use software playback the VCD(notic: this graphic supports software like Xing player do you kow the software?), that card was good because I use 3D Studio V4.0 with it very well,hehe.

this card support software playback VCD and MPEG so dont need and Sub-mpeg card on board(maybe slower without it but that was very popouler Tech in that time)
