出了是很好,不過有沒有直接可以選擇"繁體中文"安裝這才是我比較關心的,不然還是用
mandraft 8.3灌一灌好了.

是指kernel版本
redhat 7.2 -> kernel 2.4.7-10

redhat 7.3 kernel ?

我覺得應該不是2.5 因為奇數是實驗版本
偶數才是正式release的版本

kernel已經分開發展了~
RH 7.3用的是2.4的最新版 2.4.18 kernel
而2.5的發展為2.5.14,來由

和上面說的一樣
2.X 如果X是偶數表示是正式發表的版本
如果是奇數代表是實驗版本,可以下載來玩玩看,可是沒人保證他穩定

還有-後面的數字代表rh這家公司修改的次數

今天 Redhat 7.3 加上 Mandrake 8.2
我零零總總總共灌了不下七次 -_-#
因為 Redhat 7.3 中的 XFree86 4.2.0
實在是太奇怪了
顯示卡怎麼抓都是抓到 Nvidia GeForce 2 MX
而且沒有另外的選項讓我選
一進 Xwindow 就"死當"
後來就算用 Xconfigurator 去抓可以正確抓到
Nvidia nForce xxxxxxxx
一進去一樣掛... )*(@$&#%&*#*
換成 Mandrake 8.2 就沒問題 (the same version of XFree86)
可以抓的到 Nvidia GeForce Integrated 沒有問題
Mandrake 8.2 我實在是用不習慣
而且我不是很喜歡他的一些東西
ps. 我實驗室電腦的 MB 是 MSI K7N420D PRO
今天幾乎花了一個下午的時間在弄 Linux

hmm... 抱怨完了... 來講一下今天安裝 Redhat 7.3 的心得吧... :)

安裝畫面幾乎已經全中文化了
(用光碟片開機進去就有語言的選項可以選)
選擇第二項 Chinese (Traditional)
套件的話有拿掉一些了
詳細情形請看 Release Notes (連這個都中文化了:))
中文的套件幾乎都放在最後一片光碟 (也就是 disc3)
安裝完的 kernel 為 2.4.18-3
其他的安裝大致上跟 7.2 差不多
因為目前還無緣進入 Xwin
所以還沒有其他的心得... T_T

另外...
Nvidia 已經釋出 Linux driver for nForce

去上面抓下 rpm or source 安裝上去
on board 的東西就都可以動了 :)
因為還沒有 Redhat 7.3 的 rpm, 所以這部分我都是用 source 安裝
安裝過程很簡單
只要把 source 抓回來解開
到目錄裡 make;make install 就 ok 囉
再改一改 /etc/modules.conf 重開機就可以抓到網卡等硬體了
ps. 要先裝 kernel-source 還有一些有的沒的

另... Mandrake 目前只有出到 8.2 吧?
