如何安裝 ATA RAID card 和 2 顆 40GB 硬碟??
 

大家好:)

如題.我是不是要先把每一顆做partition然後format然後才可以把兩顆
用RAID卡上的程式(BIOS)做 stripping(RAID 0) ??

我試過先用RAID卡上的BIOS做 stripping(RAID 0) 然後做partition
結果一進fdisk看兩顆加起來的容量只有10GB:confused: 為什麼會這樣呢?

1. 基本上是不是format過才做成RAID 0的。一選上做RAID時硬碟的東西不是都會重新安排了嗎????所以還是要重新fdisk和format。
2. 你的RAID 卡是那一塊呀~~ 你的兩顆硬碟型號有一樣嗎?
怪怪的...

實戰：我是用兩顆IBM 30G 做raid 0，而buffer 是開到最大 (1MB 吧!!)，沒有什麼問題....(後段加速很快的喔~~)

Hello everyone,

I really need help on installing WindowsXP from CD-ROM onto a striping array (RAID 0).

So far I can’t make those two HD’s boot from RAID card (even when not set in striping). EIO AP-1680 (PCI ATA133 IDE RAID Controller) is the name of the RAID card I am using now and their web site EIO - Extreme IO Experience

I only see 4 options from RAID card utility when I boot-up
1. delete RAID set
2. create RAID set
3. create spare set
4. resolve conflicts
and I use two 40GB HD to create a striping disk using option 2 therefore I got a 80GB drive after.

The question is how can I make it to bootable?? Because I tried every possible boot-up device in BIOS without success ;-(

Surely it’s a Mass-Storage device control card therefore I should choose SCSI device for boot-up device. But it still won’t boot-up ;-(

What should I do to make it bootable also to clean install WindowsXP??

Please help me

p.s. I sort of heard that I can't make striping disk's C drive to boot partition ---> is that ture??
