I have a SB live sound card and a 4.1 speaker ( Microlab M-800)

When I buy the sound card , I ask the saleman how to connect 4.1 speaker.
He said " there are 2 speaker out on sound card. One is for front speaker . The other is for the rear speaker
Then I buy the microlab M-800. it is a 4 speaker + one subwoofer.

I discover that the rear speakers are not plug on the sound card. it is plug to the subwoofer.
then the the subwoofer have a line to the sound card.

This connection is not match with what the saleman told me.

Creative have a mixer prog to test 4 speaker.
only my 2 front speakers have sound when test.
2 rear speakers are no sound during test

I have WinDVD. In audio option .I select 4 speaker.
There is a test to test my 4 speaker .
Also, only my 2 front speakers have sound when test.
2 rear speakers are no sound during test


Is my connection of the speaker wrong ?
or
my Microlab M-800 is not real 4.1 speaker ?

What should I do to correct the connection ?
Should I connect the rear speaker to the sound card ?
Help plz..... thx.....

I think there are more details we need to know to solve this problem together.

For example,the right style of your SB card cause I've been to http://taiwan.creative.com/ and it seems to be kinds of SB Card with different equipment.

And how about tell them this question for help?

I can't find detail information for the product you buy in the internet. In general condition, there are only two analog stereo headphone adapter on you LIVE! soundblaster card, one is for the front L/R speaker and the other is for the rear L/R speaker. Under this configuration, there is not standard analog output adpater for Dobly Digital (AC-3) for your sound card.
You have two option to get the surround sound effect.
First, you can connect the S/PDIF output from the sound card to an extra AC-3 decoder like general AV amplifier.
Second, just like what you did, buy two set of speakers and a subwoofer. By this configuration you can get a AC3-similar surrond sound effect by a cheaper price. For this second option, there is a lot of selections of speaker sets. Some have an internal AC3 decoder and the others doesn't. According to what you said, I guess your Microlab M-800 should be one of the speaker sets that desn't have an internal AC3 decoder. In general condition, this type of speaker set you just connect the front speaker to subwoofer and then connect subwoofer to the front adapter of sound card, and connect your rear speaker directly to your rear adapter of sound card. The subwoofer will work automatically according to the singal that should be display by front speaker.
If you still have trouble with setting up your speaker with your sound card. Please reply and tell me more about the detail of your speaker set.
