is it powerful enough to play H264 smoothly?
 
finally, bro wants to join HTPC at lowest $.
below is what he plans to get:

MB: Asus P5K/SE.
P5K/SE
CPU: Intel E4500.
video card: Asus 2600XT D4.
2600XT D4
RAM: 2G x 2.

can above combination run H264 HD show smoothly w/o lag?
if not powerful enough, what do you recommend?

It depends on the way that you use to decode H.264 content. As for now, software decoder seems superior to hardware decoder. You could go here to see the discussion as a reference.

thought HW decoding is better than SW decoding? :confused:
