影子大地 Shadowlands (1993) DVD
 

既然The Chronicles of Narnia 就要上演了
想來介紹一下Shadowlands,
因為本人中打很慢 我就不介紹電影的內容
我個人是很喜歡這部電影 當初是在電影院看的

(IMDB) Plotlines:
CS Lewis is the author of the Narnia books - The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe. Known as Jack, he teaches at an Oxford College, during the 1930's. An American fan, Joy Gresham, arrives to meet him for tea in Oxford. It is the beginning of a love affair. Tragically Joy becomes terminally unwell and their lives become complicated.

單就DVD release來說好了
雖說這是由UK的公司製片 但DVD的首次發行是在US(4/13/1999) 由HBO發行

只有這個release有extra features 雖然不是很多 但直得一提的是有訪問Lewis's stepson Douglas Grisham. Video transfer 是可以但並不是說很好 且最大的缺點就是Non-Anamorphic :cry:

一年半後 法國Fox Pathé Europa也發行了(10/18/2000)DVD, "Les Ombres du coeur"

Video: Widescreen anamorphic - 2.35:1; Pan and scan
Audio: French (Dolby Digital 2.0), English (Dolby Digital 2.0)
Subtitle: French

這次video是anamorphic 畫質大概不會比R1的好 only satisfactory (3.5/5 in DVD Furax's review).
但是個bare-bone release -- 什麼也沒有

終於在若干年後, 11/28/2005, UK的Paramount Home Entertainment發行了R2 UK版的DVD

Video: 2.35:1 Anamorphic PAL (現在誰還會發行non-anamorphic了?)
Audio: English Dolby Digital 2.0
Subtitle: English

依DVD Times的review 給video & audio有9/10 畫質可能是比前兩版要好些
只是可惜這跟R2 French版一樣 也沒有special features :nonono:
真不知是為何

結論: 這是難以抉擇 除了French DVD沒有英文字幕 直接可以不用考慮外
若為了special features就選R1, 但沒有anamorphic (PS: DD5.1效果不突出所以不是考量的重點 再加上這部電影是對話居多)
若為了好點video transfer及anamorphic就選R2 UK 但就沒有interviews及behind scenes總共約十幾分鐘而已

R1的dvd已經難以找到了 Amazon marketplace US$35.99起 還可以在Ebay找到 但有的沒有寄到國外
R2 UK的dvd當然沒有購買上的問題 約12.79英鎊含運費到台灣
Just for the record, R2 French版在Amazon.fr要EUR 22.01 雖marketplace從EUR14.90起 但大多沒送國外

我只能說這電影影響了我十二年。

太好看了，對我來說比魔衣櫥更為經典。

男女主角飆演技
引人深省的對白劇本
動人的電影音樂
確是經典
可惜三區的DVD糟蹋了這部經典電影

期待三區能夠重新發行DVD
舊版的畫質真的不是很好
但這部片子主要著重在劇情部分也稍稍釋懷一些
另外這部片子的配樂也非常好聽
記得當初有那時張電影配樂合輯的CD有收錄其主題曲

『未來的痛苦有現在的快樂』
