AMD is not for newbies
 

I bought Shuttle AK31A and AMD ATHLON 900MHZ and 128MB PC2100 memory, and the other parts i use the one i had before. So weird, can not install windows properly for AMD, but when i use the same HDD, video card, CD rom, etc... I was able to set up windows for ASUS TUV4X with INTEL PENTIUM III 800EB. Isn't that weird?

please address ur problem more specifically, u're trying to install which version of windows? does the system become unstable after installation of the operating system or hang during the setup process?

I cannot finish the windows setup, it turns to blue screen, but that didnt happen to my asus and pentium III. Do you know what is wrong? I tried other windows and same results.

應該是其他介面卡的問題吧！主機板配CPU基本上不會有問題，不然廠商早倒了，把所有介面卡拔下來再試試吧，如果是VGA卡有問題，那就測不出來了！

Which version of windows you installed?

I knew some M/Bs have some BIOS issues while installing Windows XP.

Try to find if your M/B has the new BIOS for this problem.

did you disable the virus protect in BIOS?

I dont think there is a new bios for shuttle ak31a, because it just came out, i am usingwindows 98

try to disable agp fastwrite when install, that's the situation of some m/b will fails when installing the win xp, hope that will help
