Palit同德收购Gainward耕宇
 

根据今天台湾digitimes报道，台湾厂商Gainward的母公司TNC工业决定抽身于显示卡制造业务，已经将Gainward耕宇品牌和欧洲分公司作价一百万美金卖给Palit同德。TNC是台湾地区]硝化纤维生产大厂，控制耕宇69%股份，耕宇过去2年持续亏损，让TNC决定买掉耕宇，将产业重心集中到核心业务即电子相关化学产品生产。另外，业界也指出，近年显示卡厂商不断合并重组，对耕宇的生存也造成很大影响，华硕、微星和技嘉这些主机板厂商都加入显示卡制造业务。据信，此次收购耕宇，将帮助Palit同德进军高端显示卡制造领域，帮助Palit同德扩展在美国、欧洲和日本销售渠道。同德2004年出货6百万张显示卡，产品定位在入门市场和OEM市场。

The Gainward brand name is changing hands from TNC Industrial to Palit.
The acquisition of the Gainward brand will help Palit to make inroads into the high-end graphics-card market as well as boost its sales in the channels in the US, Europe and Japan, where Gainward-brand graphics cards are highly recognized, market sources said. Palit, which shipped about six million graphics cards in 2004, is currently focusing on the entry-level and OEM segments, the sources said.

Obviously, no news yet as to how "Gainward" will handle support going forward. We will give updates as Palit takes control.
