老硬碟疑問?
 

最近朋友丟給我2顆舊硬碟

廠牌是Seagate

型號分別是ST36530A 和 ST36423A

查了一下google資料
ST36530A 是6.5G
ST36423A 是6.4G

但是我看兩顆硬碟上面印刷卻都是寫6448MB(6.4G)

然後我又看到ST36530A這顆的jumper那邊印刷指示有個alternate capacity(AC)這種字樣,翻譯寫"備用容量"

所以我的疑問是只要把jumper接上去就會多出0.1G的備用容量嗎? :confused:

就在剛才,找了台舊電腦,,,接上去,,分別比較接上jumper和移除的差別,,接上後反而容量只剩下2G了 :shock:

那個 JUMP 應該是鎖定硬碟容量變成 2G，用來搭配老舊的系統，以前 IBM 的 IDE 硬碟一律都有這種設定方式，無論容量多大都有。

問題是容量小成這樣，比隨身碟都還要小，實用性實在是太低。
