　機械硬碟公司的研究員講 SSD?! 這個可以相信嗎？如果可以相信，那 35℃ 也太低了，在台灣大部分固態硬碟的運作/保存溫度都趨近或高於 35℃ 吧。 :jolin:

seagate 也有做 SSD 不是麼

The question is, how reliable is ssd for storage, not in use?

How long can it sit idle with the data intact?

一點都不意外
因為這是講一整批沒QC過得NAND flash的正常平均值
這確實如此
但是能上的了檯面的SSD都是要經過溫度QC才會賣才對
(不然後續維修就虧本虧死了)

回想到另外一個問題
CD當初號稱可以 last 100 yr

後來 downcost 到大家幾乎都在賠錢了

所以後來那些碟片 壽命是多少呢 ?
當然 FBI 片就免談了


現在 SSD 也是你殺我殺 可是還是有不錯的利潤存在

但是在 downcost 的同時 到底沒有了什麼 或是說 省了什麼東西

當年作到百年不壞的柯達
現在變成破產保護中
硬碟也是這樣
cost down過度，迎合主流消費者的消費金額市場
但是品質就不忍卒睹了 :think:

According to a recent presentation by Seagate's Alvin Cox, who is also chairman of the Joint Electron Device Engineering Council (JEDEC), the period of time that data will be retained on an SSD is halved for every 5 degrees Celsius (9 degrees Fahrenheit) rise in temperature in the area where the SSD is stored.

Consumer class SSDs can store data for up to two years before the standard drops, but when it comes to SSDs used by enterprises, the drives are only expected to retain data for a period of three months – a fact confirmed by Samsung, Seagate and Intel's own ratings on their products.

對於普通買家 完全不懂電腦的 真的很悲哀
認為自己做了 Backup 結果等到要用的時候 資料不存在

對於這樣自己消失的資料在 SSD 上面
如果送出去救 不知道成功率有多高 :fear:

最近才幫個客戶送硬碟出去救援資料
認為自己有做備份 結果後來硬碟無法讀取
資料又只有一份 只能花大錢消災




你不 down cost
那麼就沒什麼人使用
那麼還不是一樣被淘汰 :think:

所以現在一堆硬碟廠，SSD廠主推買消費級硬碟送雲端空間備份摟 :laugh:
租多久雲端空間就收消費者多少錢
好賺勒
比賣一顆硬碟或SSD的毛利率還高
還可以清一清企業級硬碟的庫存
超會做生意的 :unbelief:

別的我不知道
我知道的客人是不太可能去每年 Renew 的 :laugh:
