威盛說,Windows XP SP2的使用者,不要用VIA AGP driver
 

VIA英文官網上說,使用Windows XP SP2的user,請使用微軟Windows XP SP2內建的AGP driver,不要用4 in 1 4.53版的AGP drvier,網頁如下

1:灌新系統的user,
=>在灌完SP2後,再灌VIA 4 in 1 4.53版
=>灌4 in 1 4.53版時,把AGP driver的打勾取消掉,只要灌IDE和INF即可

2:已經灌了SP1+4 in 1 4.53版,然後再升級到SP2的user
=>再執行一次 4 in 1 4.53版執行檔,進入安裝畫面後
=>把IDE和INF的打勾取消掉,只要勾AGP即可,按next
=>這時會出現Install AGP driver/Uninstall AGP driver,當然是選Uninstall,然後就會重開機
=>重開機後會抓到新裝置,但是會出現安裝時發生問題,不管它,再重開機一次
=>再一次重開機後,就能正確抓到VIA CPU to AGP driver,使用WinXP SP2內建的driver,接著會要求再重開機一次
=>重開機後會再抓顯示卡,由於之前已經灌過顯示卡driver,讓WinXP自己去抓即可,然後就大功告成了

效能上實在無關痛癢
是否有其他差異性??:)
我已經換回SP1了
因為他在我這台電腦 蠻慢的(裝了F-Secure變更慢:))

天昏地暗兄提供的英文網頁有提到:
Microsoft has initiated a standardized way of programming and manipulating the AGP driver. In summary, Microsoft are concerned that vendor-specific drivers may define different page table entry (PTE) formats for GART, choose different register layouts for their AGP target (motherboard) devices and invalid GART entries could cause AGP-related system instability, such as memory corruption. Detailed information can be found here. VIA continuously works with Microsoft to provide the best possible experience for users of both products.
看起來像是微軟提出了一個標準的AGP驅動程序,所以再安裝其它AGP Driver會引起系統不穩定這樣

還沒遇到問題就是了...
如果遇到問題再移除...感謝分享囉^^

我運氣就比較差了,XP SP2裝了4.53的AGP Driver以後玩Game會自己重開機 :stupefy:

那其他晶片組的怎麼辦?

4in1 v4.53的IDE版本似乎比SP2內建的還舊，照這樣看來
只需要裝INF就好:)

已經移除

因為M$已經將VxD 4.43a（是a還是b？隨便啦）這一版給包到SP2中了
所以就不用重灌4in1裡面的VxD囉，只需要INF就好
有通過WHQL認証的，跑起來爽度可能會好些吧
