For Listening: Watching English movies without reading the subtitles, listening to the radios, or watching news like CNN or BBC...

For Reading: Try having a look at English newspaper....most of 7-11s have English newspaper like Taipei Times. Also, looking up the words you don't know by using an English-English Dictionary (英英字典).

For Speaking: Try finding someone who could speak English with you and talk with him in English.

It seems that watching news such as CNN or BBC is not a proper way to improve English skill for those one who doesn't get it in English. BBC & CNN both come with heavy UK accent, students in Taiwan have learned US accent for years.
I consider ICRT radio is a better solution. :D :D

Actually, reporters at CNN don't have any British accent, they still speak in standard American English. I think the reason why students in Taiwan can't realize the CNN news report is perhaps the way of thinking. Even if our students may understand every word the reporters say, they may have difficulties in putting words together, because they still try to translate those sentences into Chinese, while next sentence comes up quickly before our students figure out the meanings of the previous sentences. In other words, it has very little to do with accent, the important issue is to think in English. If you want to say something in English, do not try to think of translating sentences into English then speak out, it will take a lot of time, and you will not be able to response what other people just say quickly.

English is one of most useful tools in our whole lives.
The importance definitely cannot be ignored.

At least i need that for my English-writen textbooks. :p

By the way,

don't anyone find that U.S. President "Bush" Speak English very "Good"?

I mean it's clearly nad speed control also well.

Everytime watch TV news listen what he said...

it's a really good way to traning your listening...

呵 ..我可是過來人哦... :)

老實說~學英文是沒有什麼強迫不強迫的 (也沒有任何捷徑)

而常看一些美國新聞,脫口秀, 英文卡通和美國電影DVD(將字幕設定成英文)..

相信效果一定會比您強迫自己還來的好唄!

Frankly, there are too much commercials in ICRT radio these days....;)

Ghost could think & speak English at the same time....those years of studying at Canada really counts...:shy:
