最先在Anandtech Forum提供該條小道消息的這兩天已成眾矢之的.
據報使用67.03的結果是CPU佔用率不降反增.
期待nVidia的官方回應.

已經有人在籌備訴訟了...
不過因為nVidia似乎不是直接面向消費者, 所以現在的計劃是先聯合控告顯示卡廠商, 再期望這些廠商去控告nVidia或強迫nVidia拿出解決方案. 蠻複雜的... :jolin:

12/20的期限過了, 聖誕大禮也沒出現.
nVidia 12/20只是發了新聞稿說推出PureVideo, 不過好像只是paper launch, 對等待中的6800使用者一點幫助都沒有.
弄了半天是要用特別PV驅動加NV DVD decoder才有用, decoder居然還得花錢買, 暈倒 :stupefy: . 不過WMV HD加速還是八字沒一撇.

nvidia 已經要發布新版驅動程式 修正此問題了

問題是發布新驅動程式講了多少次? :stupefy:
8/9月跳票,11月底跳票, 12月20跳票.
6800已經推出多久了? :laugh:

AS WE EXPECTED and announced Nvidia released its Pure Video marchitecture driver together with its Turbo cache marchitecture. Pure Video was a long awaited marchitecture as it finally managed to put video part of some Nvidia Geforce 6 chips to good use.
Nvidia proved to the world that it can make a driver, six months after the chip launch but still can who is able to do video encoding in hardware.

It will work on Geforce 6600 and its variations and partially on 6800 cards. Geforce 6600 can do hardware WDM encoding and DVD encoding and with new driver it dramatically lowers the CPU consumption.

However Geforce 6800 cards - both NV40 based AGP cards or NV45 based bridged PCIe cards won't show any difference while decoding–playing WDM files for you. CPU consumption will remain the same as the GPU won't process the video by hardware. It simply cannot work as Nvidia never made that a part of NV40.
