P4的效能真的差嗎?從P3開始浮點運算的功能和AMD就已經有線路設計上的差異,微軟一直到WINDOWS XP 64BIT才開始針對PIII 733MHz以上的浮點運算器作最佳化的動作,可惜的是,WINDOWS XP 64BIT版本最低硬體配備需求光是主板,CPU和記憶體至少要價十萬元以上,再加上其他PCI&AGP支援64BIT的週邊還有使用的軟體,真的組好可以運作至少將近二十萬,並非一般人可以負擔,WIN XP 64BIT的運作核心十分精良,程式的運算速度完全取決於記憶體的大小,最低需求是1G,已經是跑得十分勉強!

下面是小弟翻譯WINDOWS XP 64BIT使用手冊其中一段話-
Windows XP 64-Bit Edition will run on the Intel Itanium processor as the platform for workstation users who are reaching the memory limits of 32-bit systems.

硬體需求至少需要中央處理器Intel 733MHz,至少1G以上的記憶體,還有可以支援64-bit頻寬的主機板.所有作業相關用的電腦都需要使用這樣的硬體規格!

樓上的您搞錯了吧
Itanium 733 Mhz processor 並不等於PIII 733MHz
一個是64位元的cpu一個是32位元cpu
而且Itanium processor 也不再使用x86指令集了
兩者是完全不同世代不同架構的cpu
Windows XP 64-Bit Edition 是不能在PIII 733MHz這類x86 cpu 上執行的

1.小弟不叫"樓上的"~感覺您很不尊重別人...來這邊好幾年了,很少見過這裡的網友用這種瞧不起別人的用詞...
2.跑winxp 64bit本來就需要64位元的CPU,週邊也要支援64bit~
3.Itanium當然不能說是PIII,小弟只是以時脈來大略區分等級,所以才會說PIII 733"以上"~如果有造成誤解之處,請原諒!

感到不解,Windows XP 64-Bit Edition 不能在PIII 733MHz 上執行
並不只是64與32位元cpu之差別,就算是x86 64 的amd k8也不能執行
除非微軟另外出 x86 64的 Windows XP 64-Bit Edition
