知更鳥主播的話聽聽就好，不要當成真理，似是而非的說法太多了，最標準的當然還是得看官方規則。

依照FIA規則，DNF不見得就沒有名次(CLASSIFICATION)，只要他跑的圈數超過領先者圈數90%以上者，就可以獲得名次，所以Button在澳洲站雖然只差一圈就跑完，可是成績還是照算，只不過名次必須和同樣跑56圈的人相比，所以他排在第十名。詳見「2006 FORMULA ONE SPORTING REGULATIONS」:
159) Cars having covered less than 90% of the number of laps covered by the winner (rounded down to the nearest whole number of laps), will not be classified.

所謂「無法以本身動力開過終點即取消資格」的說法是不存在的，FIA甚至允許已經過終點、卻無法自行開到管制區驗車的人，可由工作人員幫忙運過去，名次不受影響。
154) ....Any classified car which cannot reach the post race parc ferme under its own power will be placed under the exclusive control of the marshals who will take the car to the parc ferme.
