You're right,it's one great promotion for EP3 and regardless he actually "burst into tears or not." However, this is what my buddy's(American) thoughts.

Time Frame:

1. Spielberg watched the movie (This is when the wept thing happened)

2. AFTER the premiere he interveiewed by the press.

3. THEN he said "It's the best of the last three episodes. It's the best way you could possibly imagine for George to finish it off, it has a tremendous ending and it's very dark. You'll cry at the end, it's wonderful."
