咱們非英語系國家，當然分不清楚「主流Disco」(美系)與「非主流Disco」(歐陸)之別!! :ase

Disco acts charted high during the mid-1970s, and the genre's popularity peaked during the late 1970s. Its initial audiences were club-goers from the African American, Latino, gay, and psychedelic communities in New York City and Philadelphia during the late 1960s and early 1970s. Disco also was a reaction against both the domination of rock music and the stigmatization of dance music by the counterculture during this period. Women embraced disco as well, and the music eventually expanded to several other popular groups of the time.

1980年代起美國的Disco勢力逐見式微，

Euro Disco以更貼近流行音樂的曲風發揚光大而全面接管，

成為一股新的勢力，

所以1980s年代以後一些美國殘餘的Disco勢力也被納歸為Euro Disco .... :ase

例如: Grant Miller, Laura Branigan, Maria Vidal, Paul Parker, Patrick Cowley, Taffy ....
