目前防水透氣雨衣分兩類，一類是較貴的"PTFE"薄膜，代表者是Gore公司的Gore-tex；另一類是較便宜的PU Coating技術，代表者是MARMOT公司的Precip、Precip plus。
在以往gore-tex和她的強化版XCR是透氣的代表，在透氣性上是把PU Coating的布料打的死死的，但是換來的是重量...新一代的PU Coating布料透過材料的改進、服裝透氣性的設計，已經有後來居上，甚至是超越Gore-tex的趨勢...在輕量化的壓力下，Gore公司不得不推出新一代的Paclite布料來搶市場...
像目前最透氣的布料不是Gore-tex，而是eVENT，目前只有少數廠家用它來製作雨衣，前面提過的Montane即是其中之一~

What is eVENT® Fabric?
eVENT Fabric is a Direct VentingTM waterproof barrier based on the next evolution of ePTFE laminate. Using a proprietary and patented Dry System TechnologyTM, eVENT fabric sets a new standard for comfort by allowing perspiration to dissipate and vent before it saturates the inside of the fabric. At the core of eVENT fabric is a hydrophobic ePTFE (expanded Polytetrafluoroethelene) film that has been rendered oleophobic, and thereby free from body-oil contamination, via a method that retains the inherent open-pore structure of the membrane. The eVENT family of fabrics are the smartest choice for athletes and adventurers who need and demand the highest possible performance and comfort from their garments.
